I love it when the mail man has to pull up the drive way to bring the mail! It usually means the box won't fit or there are too many to fit. Yesterday's mail was two boxes of fabric. Birdseye cotton for unpaper towels, cotton velour for some inners and soakers, and bamboo fleece for soakers and inserts! It was mostly fluffy and soft fabric and definitely was not going to fit in our little mail box!
I have my first order of unpaper towels cut and waiting to be sewn. That's the plan for today. Along with working on the boys' crochet hats. Hopefully I can finish unpaper towels and get the last 7 rows crochet on Kacey's hat. Only time will tell since my thing 1 and thing 2 are sick!

Halloween for Kids!
I usually am like everyone else and run to the store to get my boys there costumes for Halloween. Last year my 5 yr old was a ninja and my 20 month old was a lion. I had just started really sewing at this time last year. I really didn't have the time to make them anything.
I decided early this year I wasn't wasting money this year. I wanted to make what I could for them for Halloween this year. I started looking a few months ago for something that I could make and finish within a couple of weeks. Well my search ended when I picked up the crochet hooks again! Both my boys love hats. They will wear whatever hat they can find laying around the house. I found the cutest pattern for crocheted Thing 1 and Thing 2 hats. These suit my boys to a T! And it included a pattern for a striped hat for me, which was a plus if I have the time to make 3 hats over the next couple of weeks.
My plan is to make the boys hats, go buy red sweats for both of them and they will have a costume. An added benefit is they can wear the sweats and hats over and over! Simple for me and I don't feel as though I wasted my money. As soon as they are finished I will post some pictures!
